Senior Citizen Health Survey - Sidharth Colony, Chembur
The Intention Behind The Survey
The Shruti Sandhaan Foundation continues to expand its interventions in Sidharth Colony, Chembur, Mumbai, through Medical Camps, Women's empowerment programs, and Music classes. The desire was to focus more intensively on medical services, and, to that end, a suggestion from a notable and respected individual working in this space was to better understand the demographics and needs.
We conducted a door-to-door survey using a structured, digitally administered questionnaire. Five volunteers, who were monetarily rewarded for their effort and have been residing in the colony for close to two decades, carried out the exercise over 25 days. They were trained to collect relevant input to make the study effective. They surveyed 467 households, including 290 senior citizens (the target audience of our survey). This is close to 40% of the population.
The report presented here provides a detailed understanding and will help us identify priority projects to focus on.
